GTE Assessment (SOP) for Australia

1. Introduce yourself? Start by stating your name, details of who all are in your family and what all do they do. (If you are married, then give full details of your spouse. If having any children, please provide their details as well. Please also mention either your spouse or children will be accompanying or joining you to Australia or not.) 
2. Provide information about your previous study. Provide full details where all you have studied since class 10^th to till your last attained qualification. List the name of school, examination board, attained marks and grades.
3. If applicable, provide details of your current / previous employment. List where all you have worked, how long and the duties and task you performed at work.
4. If there are any gaps in your study / employment, you must explain them. For example, what you were doing during this period and provide proof like experience letters etc?

Few examples may be – looking for additional options to study / work, etc. (evidences must be provided to substantiate your claims).

Unacceptable response – someone was sick in the family, or I was preparing for IELTS (unless evidence can be provided and your IELTS score are reflective of the same).

5. Why have you decided to pursue further study in Australia? Did you consider other destinations before choosing Australia?

These answers are not acceptable “because Australia is a multicultural state which offers practical education. Education in my country is theoretical. Australia has high ranking universities, etc. I and my family always dreamed of getting a foreign degree from Australia.

Unacceptable reason – There is so cold in Canada, UKS and Canada is more expensive etc.

6. Provide particular reasons for not continuing further education in your home country?

Some acceptable examples can be, high marks required to seek admissions, similar costs to as Australia when compared to Private Sector Universities, etc.

Unacceptable answer – There is academic teaching skills in my home country and in Australia Universities offer more practical education}.

7. What research have you done about other universities in Australia and why did you choose this university?

Unacceptable Reason – because university has good teaching staff, good libraries, the university has research facility, free Wi-Fi, good ranking, free airport pick-up, etc.}  

8. Provide details about the course that you are going to study. Ransoms to choose this course and what future benefits will you receive after completion of the course?

Don’t copy and list courses and subjects from the website of university.

9. If the course you intend to pursue in Australia is not related to your previous study / employment, please provide acceptable reasons for changing your field of study / work? If you are coming to study a similar level or similar course (Masters to Masters or Bachelor to Bachelor), please give your reasons.
10. Need to provide full details (including costs) of your planned living arrangements in Australia?

Unacceptable reason: My friend is studying and living in Melbourne and studying at the same University. I will stay with him. 

11. Provide the details of how you will be backing your expenses (course, accommodation and travel)? Who will be funding and supporting these funds and his relationship with you?
12. Describe your future plans and how will these courses from Australia will help you in future employment prospects in their home country?

Unacceptable response: I will join any multinational company like IBM, Google, Dell, HP as a Manager with a great salary package.
